Storm Proof Your Home

If you liked our last post, you'll definitely like this one. We all know that preparation is the best method of prevention, so preparing your house for storm season is just as important as cleaning up home damage.

There are tons of easy things you can do to make your home or property safer and less likely to incur damages as a result of a storm.

First, reinforce your doors, this includes regular doors as well as garage doors. Reinforce double entry doors with strong foot and head bolts.

Next, make sure to glue down your roof. This can be done from inside your home's attic. It's very simple. Just apply construction grade glue along the joints where the sheathing rests on the rafters.

You'll also want to take the extra step in securing screen porches or carports by making sure that they are secured to your home properly.

These are very simple steps but they can help save you time, money and damages when the next storm hits. Want more information on storm proofing your home? Call the experts at Paul Davis Restoration today!
